Rating: 5/5 – Two asshats, one a magical black Panthro
If you aren’t reading this book, you’d better start.
I was never into Vailant comics. I dabbled in X-O Manowar back in the day and tried the new series, but I never got further involved. On a whim, I picked up Quantum and Woody #1 and really enjoyed it. It was just a plain fun book. Issue two provided more insanity, laughter, and action. Issue three just keeps it coming.
By the title, you can see a few examples of the humor this book has. Two step-brothers who do not get along are forced to become heroes and fight together, despite pretty much hating each other.
This issue has Quantum and Woody meeting their first villains, moving onto going on the run from cops, and finally a huge fight where they go their separate ways. Then throw in a few twists and turns while introducing a new evil society.
And not to leave anyone out, Tom Fowler does another amazing job on art duties. The guy has never been a slouch but he just is above and beyond his previous work with this. The action, the expressions, everything is done with that extra added Fowler Flair. It’s as much fun to read as it is to look at.
