Rating: 5/5 – World’s Smartest Man Cures Death!  What’s Next?
by ComicSpectrum EiC Bob Bretall.

I had no expectations coming into this book and it blew me away.  Marc Guggenheim wrote the hell out of this story about Jonas Quantum, the world’s smartest man.  Page 1 opens with his and starts tracking his achievements.   “Day One.  Born. “ …and a bit later that day… “Master Speech.”  Onward and upward!

He cures death on day 12,995.  And then things get interesting…

Guggenheim introduces us to Jonas in a number of vignettes that are all tagged with the “day of life” to give us an idea where they fit in, including some pertinent flashbacks of some of his other key discoveries that play into the story that I won’t spoil here.  Supporting the story is some superb art by Freddie Williams II.  Williams’ detailed backgrounds in most panels give a definite sense of place, along with excellent story flow, some great figure and body language work.

The Infinite Adventures of Jonas Quantum is the kind of book that will fly under the radar of a lot of readers despite the ridiculously long title.  It boast the talents of well know mainstream creators Marc Guggenheim and Freddie Williams II, but coming out from Legendary, this one may not be sitting on the rack waiting for you to browse through it in many comic shops.  If it’s not waiting on the rack it’s definitely worth tracking down.  Ask your shop to order a copy for you.  If you like it as much as I did it’s going to be on your pull list moving forward for sure!
